January 22, 2008-    The 35th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

Gone are the days when abortions were illegal and “choice” for women  often meant choosing between a back alley abortion, a long nightmarish trip to one of the few compassionate physicians who provided clandestine abortions, or a trip to a foreign country where you may or may not receive quality care. It is easy to take for granted the right that were secured by Roe v. Wade– the historic Supreme Court decision that guarantees a woman’s right to choose.

A woman’s ability to exercise her right to choose abortion is becoming increasingly dependent on the state in which she lives.

Now more than ever, is the time to join in the fight to insure the right of women to make their own private health care decision.

Here’s what you can do to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade and ensure that reproductive health services continue to be available now and in the future:

  • Join Planned Parenthood of Southern New Jersey’s action network, an e-mail alert system that inform you about the issues with action suggestions.

  • Join Vox.  We have established chapters on local college campuses.  We want young voices to be heard.

  • Become a Planned Parenthood of Southern New Jersey advocate- visit legislators in Trenton and Washington, D.C., attend legislative hearings, write letters to the media and to governmental officials in support of our efforts.

  • Make a contribution in support of our advocacy program.  Donate $35.00 for the 35th anniversary of Roe V. Wade.

Or print a donation form and mail.
